Chardham Yatra guidelines to be issued by Uttarakhand for pilgrims from 3 districts

From July 1 as Uttarakhand has allowed state residents to undertake the Char Dham Yatra, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the state government will be publishing guidelines for the pilgrimage for people from three districts.

These three districts are Chamoli, Uttarkashi, and Rudraprayag as informed by the Government spokesperson Subodh Uniyal.

Uniyal also cited that the state government will take all necessary steps to follow COVID-19 protocols, and will make sure that priests are vaccinated against COVID-19.

Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri are the four pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand  This comes after the State Cabinet decided to partly open the Chardham yatra for locals in limited numbers from July 1. The yatra will be opened for residents of Chamoli, Uttarkashi, and Rudraprayag districts with a limited number of pilgrims visiting the temples daily.

Bringing a negative RT-PCR/Rapid Antigen test report will be compulsory for every pilgrim. Also, the standard operating procedure (SOPs) to be followed by pilgrims while visiting the temples will be issued separately.
