BCCI will have to take decision on conducting 15th addition of IPL in India with the help of the team owners of IPL teams. The board and team owners have to discuss plan B of conducting IPL, when the cases are increasing in India. They have to decide venue for IPL, if the IPL is not possible due to covid situation in India. The BCCI will have to inform about the decision on whom BCCI is giving media rights for IPL 2022. There are the chances of conducting 15th season of IPL 2022 in South Africa, if the situation not permits the IPL to be held in India. “The Board has paid Emirates Cricket fees to the tune of Rs 150 crore (Rs 100 crore for 2020 edition of the IPL & Rs 50 crore for the 2021 edition) to host the tournament there. The Board is certainly not keen on spending that kind of money again and will therefore look at options,” said the officials who are looking in this matter.
