Google will invest $1 billion in Bharati Airtel through a mix of equity and commercial partnership that could bloster the telecom operators digital offerings
This investment includes $700 million in eqity and $300 million in implementing commercial agreements, including investments in scaling Airtel’s offerings, the companies said.
The company had no plans to develop its own exclusive smartphone and added that it will work with its partners,which includes lenders,device manufacturers and e-commerce companies.
This investment of google is the second investment in an Indian telecom service provider after Reliance Jio.
