Venkaiah Naidu to Chair Virtual Meeting with Parties on Raja Sabha Agenda for Budget Session

Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu will conduct a virtual conference on Monday evening with leaders of various parties and organisations in the House to define the agenda for Parliament’s Budget session. Every session of Parliament, the Rajya Sabha chairman holds a meeting with leaders of various parties and organisations to request their assistance in the smooth functioning of the house and to discuss the agenda for the session.

The first session-related virtual contact will take place on January 31 at 5 p.m., according to individuals close to Naidu. Following testing positive for COVID last week, Naidu will return to Delhi on Sunday evening after a week-long home quarantine in Hyderabad.

Parliament’s budget session is underway. President Ram Nath Kovind’s address to a joint sitting of both houses of Parliament kicks off the budget session of Parliament on Monday.

The union budget for 2022-23 will be presented in the Lok Sabha at 11 a.m. on February 1 and tabled in the Rajya Sabha later that day.
