BCCI plans to start women’s IPL by 2023, this season will have 4 exhibition games

The BCCI is wanting to begin the Women’s IPL by 2023, Board President Sourav Ganguly said on Friday while four show games make a return this season following a one-year hole.

“It (the undeniable ladies’ IPL) must be endorsed by the AGM. We intend to begin it by the following year ideally,” BCCI president Sourav Ganguly told columnists after the IPL Governing Council meeting here on Friday.

In a meeting to PTI in February, Ganguly had said that Women’s IPL will be sent off in 2023.

IPL executive Brijesh Patel likewise clarified that this season there will be four counterparts for the three ladies groups around men’s IPL end of the season games.

“There will be four matches including three groups around the hour of the end of the season games,” Patel said after the gathering.
