As a result of the CBI’s back-to-back search operations occurring at more than 20 locations in Delhi-NCR, including Sisodia’s residence in connection with the Delhi government’s new excise policy case, sources in the Enforcement Directorate have revealed that they are all prepared to initiate an ECIR-related action against Manish Sisodia.The proceeds of crime in this case have gone to a number of people, including private citizens and government employees, according to ED sources
Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) is the ED’s equivalent of a police FIR.However, it is not shared with any accused, said an ED official.
After conducting searches, the CBI has also filed a FIR in connection with suspected anomalies in the creation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy, which was raised in November of last year.The Excise Policy, 2021–2022, of the Kejriwal administration was the subject of a CBI investigation recommendation made by Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena due to alleged rule violations and procedural errors.The CBI inquiry was recommended on Delhi Chief Secretary’s report filed in July, showing prima facie violations of GNCTD Act 1991, Transaction of Business Rules (ToBR)-1993, Delhi Excise Act-2009, and Delhi Excise Rules-2010, they said.
Apart from this, there were also “deliberate and gross procedural lapses” to provide post-tender “undue benefits to liquor licenses”, a CBI heading the operations said.Sisodia in a series of tweets said the CBI is welcome.He said these people are troubled because of the excellent work done by the Delhi government in the health and education Sector.
