According to authorities, a 15-year-old girl who was allegedly repeatedly raped by her father over the course of six years committed herself on Sunday in Imphal. They also added that the culprit had been detained.
After making an attempt at suicide on July 31, the minor was admitted to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) on August 3. On the same day that her condition deteriorated, she was sent to a different private hospital, according to the police.
She had repeated kidney dialysis sessions at the private hospital before being transferred to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on August 18, where she passed away on Sunday night due to multiple organ failure, they added.
According to the case’s investigating officer, the investigation is ongoing and the accused is being held in custody. The police officer stated, “We will do all in our power to file the charge sheet as quickly as feasible.”
The deceased made an attempt at suicide on the evening of July 3, unable to handle the horror. She was left untreated at home for three days until, according to Devi, her condition deteriorated on August 3 and she was subsequently admitted to the hospital.
“The minor passed away in spite of the best efforts of the doctors, nurses, district child protection unit, Thoubal, social welfare department, and police. Her kidneys were both affected, said Devi.
The young girl claimed told Childline on August 4 that she had asked her grandma for assistance but that the latter had allegedly covered up the crime.
The child apparently told a few of her close pals about her encounter and recorded it in her diary. Police have not yet located the journal. According to Gajoo, the deceased wanted to attend a boarding school but her father forbade it.
