The Prevention of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act’s special court has also recommended to the state of Uttar Pradesh that the victim be given Rs. 1 lakh in compensation.
A special court in this city on Thursday sentenced a person to 10 years in prison without parole for raping a little child in 2018, according to Press Trust of India.
The convict, Annu Sharma, was also given a fine of 50,000 rupees by special judge Sangeeta Kumar.
According to Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Sanjiv Bakharwa, the special court for cases under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act has also recommended to the Uttar Pradesh government to award the victim 1 lakh.
The girl’s father said in his complaint that on November 18, 2018, Annu Sharma violated his 17-year-old daughter in the Modi Nagar neighbourhood.
Later, the girl told her family members what had happened.
The case was filed in accordance with the pertinent IPC, POCSO, and SC/ST Act sections. On March 2, 2019, the case’s trial had begun.
