For the third time in history, theSupreme Court has an all-femalebench

A bench made up entirely of female judges will sit in courtroom number 11 of the Supreme Court today,
which is an uncommon occurrence.
Justice Bela M. Trivedi and Justice Hima Kohli will sit on the bench. The bench will hear three criminal
cases, nine civil cases, ten bail cases, and ten petitions for transfers.
This will be the third occasion in the Supreme Court’s history when a bench of female judges would hear
cases.
The first instance occurred in 2013 ,when Justices Gyan Sudha Misra and Ranjana Prakash Desai
temporarily sat together due to the absence of another judge.
The second occurred in 2018, when Justices R. Banumathi and Indira Banerjee graced a bench.
