Serum Institute of India, headquartered in Pune and valued at Rs 2.19 lakh crore, is ranked first on the
Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 Top 10 list of unlisted companies. Adar Poonawala is the company’s
CEO.
Serum Institute is one of the largest businesses in the healthcare industry, according to the report,
which gave it a total ranking of 22. With an increase of Rs 36,300 crore, it is the 19th greatest gainer in
terms of rupee crore. In terms of net profit for FY22, Serum ranked 17th with Rs 11,116 crore. With Rs
5,823 crore in fiscal year 22, it is the eighth highest direct taxpayer. Additionally, it is the top 2022
bootstrapped business.
The second in line is Byju Raveendran’s edtech business, BYJU’S, with Rs 1.82 lakh crore. The most
valuable PE/VC-funded company is BYJU’S. With a rise of Rs 47,200 crore, it was the 13th highest gainer.
The Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 lists it as 24th.
National Stock Exchange of India, led by Ashishkumar Chuhan, is ranked after BYJU’S with a valuation of
Rs 1.39 lakh crore.
Swiggy, the food delivery service started by Sriharsha Majety, is the fourth most valuable unlisted firm
with a valuation of Rs 88,600 crore, followed by Ritesh Agarwal’s OYO with Rs 77,800 crore.
Following with a value of Rs 66,200 crore is Harsh Jain’s Dream11, followed by Vijay Kantilal Chauhan’s
Parle Products in seventh place with a value of Rs 62,600 crore. With a valuation of Rs 62,100 crore,
Harshil Mathur’s Razorpay comes in seventh place.
The ninth- and tenth-placed companies are Ola, led by Bhavish Agarwal, with a value of Rs 60,500 crore,
and Intas Pharmaceuticals, led by Nimish Chudgar, with a value of Rs 59,300 crore.
The “2022 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500” was published by Hurun India and Burgundy Private, the
private banking division of Axis Bank. According to their valuation, it ranks the 500 most valuable firms
in India. The deadline for compiling this list was October 30, 2022.
