Yes Bank said in a regulatory filing on Thursday that the Reserve Bank of India has given private equity
investors Carlyle Group and Advent International conditional approval to buy up to 9.99% each of the
company.
According to the bank, Yes Bank and its investors would work with the RBI to quickly resolve the
requirements in order to obtain the final clearance. But it didn’t go into detail about what these criteria
were.
With one of the biggest capital raises by a domestic private lender ever, Yes Bank will be able to boast
one of the highest capital ratios among its competitors. As of September 30, the total capital adequacy
ratio for Yes Bank was 17.3%.
