Following the Jaishankar-Baerbock meetings, India andGermany signed agreements on migration and mobility

S. Jaishankar, minister of external affairs, and Annalena Baerbock, minister of foreign affairs
of Germany, inked detailed partnership agreements on migration and mobility on Monday in
New Delhi. The two Ministers held long conversations with the goal of enhancing bilateral
cooperation, particularly in the fields of energy, commerce, and climate change.
Mr. Jaishankar stated that a stronger and safer global economy is something that both
Germany and India are interested in. “The migration accord will make mobility problems
easier. We anticipate a resolution to the visa issues (for Indians travelling to Germany),” he
added. According to Ms. Baerbock, the goal of the migration agreement is to make it simpler
for German investors and companies to travel to India as well as for Indian students and
researchers to visit Germany.
In recent years, relations between India and Germany have improved. The topic of ways to
increase bilateral economic engagement and defence cooperation was emphasised.
