According to the first global study on the prevalence of violence and harassment at work, abuse at the
workplace is pervasive and particularly severe among young people, migrants, and wage workers,
especially women.
According to a research issued Monday by the U.N. International Labor Organization, the Lloyds Register
Foundation, and Gallup, more than 22% of the roughly 75,000 workers in 121 countries questioned last
year reported having experienced at least one sort of violence or harassment.
Additionally, it was discovered that individuals who had ever been the target of discrimination based on
their gender, handicap status, country, race, skin colour, or religion were more likely to encounter
violence or harassment at work than those who hadn’t.
