Arjun Tendulkar follows in his father’s footsteps by scoring a century on Goa’s First-Class debut

On the second day of Goa’s Group C Ranji Trophy encounter against Rajasthan here on Wednesday, Arjun Tendulkar, following in the footsteps of his famed father Sachin Tendulkar, hit a century on his First-Class debut.

Exactly 34 years had passed since Sachin, then 15, started his ascent to glory by scoring 100 unbroken runs against Gujarat at the Wankhede Stadium.

The late Lala Amarnath and one of his three sons, Surinder, became the only father-son team to accomplish the feat in the 145-year history of the conventional international game. They both scored hundreds in their Test debuts.
