On Friday, the appellate tribunal maintained the Competition Commission of India’s (CCI) decision to impose a fine of 751.83 crore on United Breweries, the company that makes Kingfisher beer.
The competition watchdog allegedly discovered cartel activity at United Breweries Ltd (UBL), Carlsberg India Pvt., and SABMiller India Ltd.
According to CCI, the corporations participated in pricing coordination, supply limits, and market sharing in violation of the law in various states. Carlsberg India has received a 120 crore rupee fine from CCI.
