The electronic Supreme Court Reports (e-SCR) initiative will be introduced tomorrow by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, marking another another step in the direction of achieving the goal of digitising the Indian judiciary.
According to a news release, the e-SCR Project is being introduced on the first working day of the new year “as a tribute to the nation.”
By employing the verifiably legitimate soft copies that are readily available in the PDF format, the e-SCR project will display replica soft copies of SCRs. A priceless resource would be produced by this endeavour, as every judgement handed down by the Supreme Court since its founding in 1950 would be accessible via the e-SCR and a digital repository.
