The Yo-Yo test is back, and Dexa is now a selection factor for the Indian team, according to the BCCI review

After the high-profile BCCI review meeting held here, the Yo-Yo fitness test was once again included in the qualifications for selection to the Indian cricket team on January 1, 2023.

After India’s T20 World Cup semifinal loss in November, the meeting—which had been postponed—finally supposedly happened with BCCI secretary Jay Shah, president Roger Binny, captain Rohit Sharma, coach Rahul Dravid, NCA head VVS Laxman, and selector Chetan Sharma in attendance.

Dexa (a bone scan test) has also been added to the list of criteria for selection in addition to the Yo-Yo test. Additionally, it was agreed that in order to be considered for national selection, young players, who frequently choose white-ball cricket over red-ball cricket in order to earn more money in the IPL, would need to play a “significant domestic season.”
