Ronaldo’s Saudi move is expected to draw more attention to Asian football

A new era in Asian football will begin when Cristiano Ronaldo is unveiled by Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr on Tuesday in Riyadh.

On Friday, Al-Nassr posted on social media that it had signed one of the greatest sports talents in the world. More than 20 million people viewed the post in only 24 hours, and the club added roughly 2.5 million new followers.

Similar growth was observed on Instagram, in which the Portuguese star has the highest number of followers worldwide with over 520 million. Over 30 million people liked the announcement there.
