Switch Mobility, JBM Auto, and PMI Electro Mobility, supported by commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland, are believed to have won the state-owned Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL) tender for the sum of 30 billion (about $362.40 million).
These businesses had taken part in CESL’s September 21, 2022, tender for the delivery of 465 e-buses for six states. The deployment of 50,000 electric buses in India over the next four to five years is expected to cost $1 trillion ($12 billion). It is intended to deploy the 50,000 electric buses in stages.
From January 4 until January 20, bids for 4,675 electric buses may be submitted online. For various lots, the bidder must submit their bid security.
