Delhi Elections for mayor are postponed following AAP and BJP conflicts

AAP and BJP councillors started fighting, delaying the mayoral elections at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s (MCD) first House meeting. A top MCD official promised to offer a new date, but the timetable is yet undetermined.

When Mr. Sharma started giving the 10 aldermen their oaths during the first meeting, chaos broke out as AAP council members and MLAs shouted protests and entered the Well.

The alderman took the oath before the elected representatives, which drew outcry from AAP council members and MLAs.
