The Center on the Legal Profession Award for Global Leadership, the highest professional honour bestowed by the Harvard Law School Center for the Legal Profession, will be given to Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud.
CJI Chandrachud graduated from Harvard Law School with an LLM and an SJD (Doctor of Jurisprudence).On January 11, from 7 to 8 p.m., an online event will be held to deliver the prize.
CJI Chandrachud will join a select group of previous recipients, which also includes Samantha Power (current head of the Agency for International Development and former U.S. Permanent Representative to the UN under President Obama), Brad Smith (vice-chair and president of Microsoft), and the late Vernon Jordan (who throughout his illustrious career served as the president of the National Urban League, senior managing director of Lazard Frères, and senior partner at Akin Gump, a law firm) (Executive Chair and former CEO of Merck).
