Former Infosys president Ravi Kumar named as CEO of Cognizant.

In order to replace Brian Humphries as the company’s new CEO and board member, Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. has named Ravi Kumar S. with immediate effect.

In October, Kumar resigned from Infosys and began working for Cognizant as president of Cognizant Americas. Many observers at the time believed he was a front-runner for the CEO position. 

In order to ensure a smooth transition, Humphries will remain on as a special adviser through March 15th, according to a statement from Cognizant. After a four-year tenure, he left his position as CEO earlier this month.
