We have a difficult year ahead, but there are indications of resilience, said Gita Gopinath, the Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), while describing the IMF’s forecast for 2023.
She posted a video to Twitter while at the 2023 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. She claimed in the video message that 2023 will be a difficult year due to rising inflation, the effects of the Russia-Ukraine war, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, a robust labour market in a number of nations, notably the U.S., and continued consumption in a number of regions of the world suggested resilience.
