In a recent case (Babu Lal v. State), the Delhi High Court announced a set of guidelines to protect survivors under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO Act) who must physically show up in court for arguments on bail and confront the accused.
As there are charges, accusations, and cases casting doubt on the integrity and character of the prosecutrix and her family, Justice Jasmeet Singh stated that the psychological impact on a POCSO survivor being present in court throughout the arguments is grave.
The judge made a number of directives after considering the counsel Adit S. Pujari, the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee (DHCLSC), and the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA).
