The Centre informs the Supreme Court that it would decide on Swamy’s petition concerning Ram Setu soon

On January 19, 2023, the Supreme Court noted that the government is currently debating whether to designate Ram Setu as a “national monument.”

It permitted Subramanian Swamy, the petitioner and a former member of the Rajya Sabha, to provide more information to the Ministry of Culture if he so chose.

The government was requested by a bench chaired by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud to inform the court once the process was complete.
