With its unprecedented purchase of 495 aeroplanes, Air India is prepared to order 235 single-aisle aircraft from Airbus.
A total of 425 single-aisle aircraft, including 235 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft and 190 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, are expected to be covered under the agreement, which is approximately split with rival Boeing.
According to the sources, the purchase will also likely include up to 70 widebody long-haul aircraft, including up to 40 Airbus A350s, 20 Boeing 787s, and 10 Boeing 777Xs.
