On January 28, 2023, the Rashtrapati Bhavan Gardens, also known as the Mughal Gardens, underwent a name change to Amrit Udyan.
In a statement issued here, Navika Gupta, the deputy press secretary to President Droupadi Murmu, said: “On the event of the celebrations of 75 years of Independence as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the President of India is happy to provide a common name to the Rashtrapati Bhawan gardens as Amrit Udyan.”
Every year in the spring, the gardens are temporarily opened to the public. The garden will open to the public on Sunday in the presence of President Ms. Murmu and stay so until March 26.
