4.07 lakh crore in disinvestment proceeds realised during the past nine years: Economic Analysis

In the past nine years, disinvestment revenues totalled over 4.07 lakh crore, and as of 2014, the government is working with the private sector as a co-partner in development, according to the Economic Survey, which was released on January 31.

As of January 18, 2023, 48% of the budgeted amount of 65,000 crores for the current fiscal, or approximately 38,000 crores, had been collected.

The Survey claimed that the privatisation of Air India re-started the privatisation push. Data suggests that the PSUs divested between 1990 and 2015 are now more productive and efficient overall.
