According to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday, the southern Indian state of Karnataka is in serious discussions with Taiwan’s Foxconn about prospective investment plans, perhaps positioning it to become the third state in India to host Foxconn.
Without offering any other information, the state’s investment promotion agency also tweeted that representatives met at the business’s Taiwan headquarters to discuss the investment.
Foxconn, a Taiwanese company, already operates in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, where it produces goods for businesses like Apple Inc. and Amazon.com Inc.
