This follows nationwide protests by AAP workers against Sisodia’s arrest. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court on Monday (February 27) sent Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia under CBI investigation till March in connection with the alleged liquor excise policy scam.
This comes in the wake of the nationwide protests by AAP workers against Sisodia’s arrest. CBI arrested Sisodia after interrogating him for over seven hours on Sunday.
“I was told that most CBI officers were against the arrest of Manish. They all respect him immensely and there is no evidence against him. But the political pressure to arrest him was so great that they had to bow down to their political masters,” said Delhi CM and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal.
Sisodia, who is also Delhi’s finance minister, was earlier questioned on 19- on Feb. He was looking for a week to prepare the Delhi budget which was approved by the CBI.
