A pro-Khalistan demonstration took place in front of the Indian Embassy in the United States. A Supreme Court attorney filed a complaint with the Delhi Police against the demonstrators and asked them to take strict action by revoking their passports in accordance with the law. Vineet Jindal, a lawyer for the Supreme Court, asked the Delhi Police to file a FIR against pro-Khalistan protesters.
In an attempt to foment violence, supporters of the pro-Khalistan rally organised a demonstration in front of the Indian Embassy. Threatening remarks were made against India and the Indian government by Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the Indian ambassador to the US in Washington, DC. Also, some of the demonstrators were observed provoking violence and damaging the Indian consulate.
The Indian Ambassador to the United States, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and the staff of the Indian embassy in Washington were allegedly threatened and harassed by the protesters, according to the Supreme Court attorney’s complaint. Also, they destroyed the Indian embassy, verbally and physically assaulted an Indian journalist in Washington, and provoked and incited the public against the Union of India right outside the Indian Embassy.
