China has revealed a security flaw at US chipmaker Micron.

China launches security investigation into US chipmaker Micron Technology Chinese authorities have launched an investigation into major US memory chipmaker Micron Technology, a move to “protect national security”, it said on Monday the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing.
The investigation intensifies an already bitter battle for supremacy in the semiconductor sector between Beijing and Washington as bilateral relations continue to deteriorate. China’s top cybersecurity regulator announced the decision late Friday, saying in an online notice that it would review products sold by Micron for “national security concerns.”
Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said at a regular press conference on Monday that the investigation is a normal measure to “conduct cybersecurity reviews of Internet products that affect or may affect the national security”.
“Chinese companies and foreign companies operating in China should abide by Chinese laws and regulations and should not endanger China’s national security,” she said.
