Sachin Kamble is appointed head of digital business by Sony Music.


Sachin Kamble will oversee Sony Music Entertainment’s (SME) digital division and report to managing director Vinit Thakkar. In order to increase overall revenue, Kamble will oversee the company’s digital business with media partners for digital platforms, TV channels, OTT platforms, short-form videos, and other content across the SAARC region. His main goal will be to improve Sony Music Entertainment’s standing and market share in the rapidly expanding Indian music sector.
In the areas of business strategy, consumer insights, post-merger integration, and business automation AI/ML (artificial intelligence/machine learning) initiatives, Kamble has more than 16 years of expertise in the media and entertainment sector. He has previously worked for Star India, the Times Group, Turner India, the Walt Disney Company, and Zee Network.
Thakkar succeeded Rajat Kakar as managing director of the business last month thanks to a promotion from Sony Music Entertainment. According to a blog post by the business, Thakkar will be in charge of managing the company’s operations while working directly with local, regional, and international teams to expand its strategic alliances and find new business prospects for its artists. Shridhar Subramaniam, president of corporate strategy and market development for Asia and the Middle East, will be his direct supervisor.
